A big thank you to everyone who came to Stresa, I had an amazing time and am so grateful to have spent my fiftieth with such a great group of people. Look forward to seeing your photos and I will be posting some of mine here in the near future.

All of the weekends are now full. It would still be great if you could join us, but you will now need to arrange your own accommodation for those dates. There is still room during the weekdays. Get in touch before you book any flights!

The Villa

I have booked a four-bedroom villa in the town of Stresa on Lake Maggiore in northern Italy. I have covered that, so all you have to do is find some flights to come and join me for however many days you can make.

• Two double bedrooms
• One double bedroom with a sofa bed
• One twin room
• One kitchen with dining facilities, although I suspect we will be sampling the local restaurants more often than not
• One lovely balcony with views to the lake

The villa also has off-street parking and free WiFi.

If you would prefer to arrange your own accommodation, obviously I would still be delighted to see you and you are more than welcome to join us for drinks, etc. in the villa.

The Dates

I have booked the villa from Friday 26th April through to Monday 13th May 2019, giving you three possible weekends to choose from. Of course, you are welcome to come during the week too, I shall be there the entire time.

Some of the rooms are already taken over the middle weekend (the weekend of my actual birthday), but there is still room. I shall update here as people take the rooms. Please drop me a line with the dates you would be interested in.

The Location

Stresa is a small town on the shores on Lake Maggiore in northern Italy, just north of Milan.

• It is about 30 miles away from Milan’s Malpensa Airport
• There is a direct bus between the airport and Stresa
• There is a direct train between Milan and Stresa
• The villa has parking for a couple of cars
• From Stresa you can take boats to the Borromean Islands and other towns on the lake
• There is also a cable car up to Mottarone for some botanical gardens and views from the top of the mountain

I shall add more details about the transport options as I investigate further.
